Job Summary
The Legal Intern will support the firm's legal team by assisting with legal research, drafting legal documents, case preparation, regulatory compliance, and administrative legal tasks. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in legal practice while working alongside experienced legal professionals in a dynamic and innovative environment.
The successful candidate should possess a strong interest in legal practice, excellent analytical skills, and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Research and Case Support
- Conduct legal research using legislation, case law, and legal databases.
- Prepare legal summaries, briefs, and memoranda.
- Assist advocates with case preparation and legal documentation.
- Review legal documents for accuracy and completeness.
Documentation and Compliance
- Draft correspondence, contracts, agreements, and other legal documents under supervision.
- Assist in preparing court filings and regulatory submissions.
- Organize and maintain legal files and case records.
- Support compliance and due diligence assignments.
Client and Administrative Support
- Attend client meetings where appropriate.
- Prepare meeting notes and follow-up action points.
- Assist with document management and filing systems.
- Perform other legal and administrative duties assigned by supervising advocates.
Professional Development
- Participate in legal training sessions and team meetings.
- Develop knowledge of legal procedures, professional ethics, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to legal knowledge management initiatives.
Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B) or currently completing an LL.B programme from a recognized institution.
- Strong legal research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

- Previous internship or volunteer experience in a legal environment.
- Knowledge of Tanzanian legal procedures and court systems.
- Familiarity with legal research databases.
