Position Overview

The Junior Accountant will manage daily financial transactions, keep accurate accounting records, ensure statutory tax compliance, and assist in preparing periodic financial reports. The ideal candidate has basic accounting knowledge, experience with Tally software, and strong attention to detail. Africans& Diaspora

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Records & Data Entry: Record daily transactions, process invoices, handle receipts, and perform reconciliations in Tally.

Statutory Compliance & Deductions: Process payroll and make timely statutory submissions (PAYE, SDL, NSSF, WCF, City Service Levy) to local authorities.

Banking & Reconciliations: Coordinate banking activities, balance corporate accounts, and execute routine bank reconciliations.

Reporting & Audits: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; assemble documentation for internal and external audits.

Internal Controls: Implement operational financial controls and suggest workflow improvements for accounting procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

Experience: 0 to 1 year of hands-on accounting experience (entry-level or internship experience accepted).

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Tally accounting software and Microsoft Office (specifically MS Excel).

Competencies: Strong understanding of Tanzanian statutory tax requirements, high numerical accuracy, organizational ability, and high integrity regarding financial data.
