The IT Expert is responsible for the maintenance, security, and development of the institution’s technology infrastructure. This role provides critical technical support to ensure the seamless operation of all academic and administrative systems.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot the institution’s network (LAN/WAN), servers, and hardware.
  • Provide first and second-level technical support to staff and students.
  • Manage user accounts, emails, and access permissions across various platforms.
  • Implement cybersecurity measures, including firewalls, antivirus, and data backup solutions.
  • Support and train users on institutional software, including the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve institutional efficiency.
  • Document IT systems, procedures, and inventory.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSA, CompTIA Network+) are highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking, server administration (Windows/Linux), and helpdesk support.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly.

Experience needed

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT systems administration and support, preferably in an educational environment.
