Position Overview
The Human Resource Officer will be responsible for managing core HR operations, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and fostering a productive, ethical, and professional workplace culture. The ideal candidate must have at least three (3) years of proven HR experience in a reputable organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Onboarding
Manage the full recruitment cycle including job posting, shortlisting, interviews, and onboarding.
2. Policy & Compliance
Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, SOPs, and staff handbooks.
Ensure compliance with Tanzania labour laws, workplace safety standards, and internal regulations.
3. Employee Records & Documentation
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, contracts, performance documentation, and HR databases.
4. Performance & Development
Coordinate performance appraisals, staff development programs, and training initiatives.
5. Employee Relations
Provide guidance on employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures.
6. Reporting & HR Analytics
Prepare HR reports, analytics, attendance summaries, and provide payroll support documents.
7. Organizational Culture
Support management in nurturing a culture of teamwork, ethics, professionalism, and productivity.
Qualifications & Competencies
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of proven work experience in human resource management.
Knowledge & Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Tanzania labour laws and HR practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
- Experience with HR software is an added advantage.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
