The school is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Head of School to provide strategic leadership and oversee the day-to-day operations of the institution. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding teachers and staff, promoting academic excellence, ensuring effective administration and resource management, fostering Christian values, and advancing the school’s vision for holistic student development.
Responsibilities
Supervise teaching and learning activities for Forms I–IV.
Ensure effective implementation of the NECTA curriculum.
Monitor academic performance and examination results.
Coordinate internal examinations and preparation for national examinations.
Promote excellence in teaching methodologies and classroom management.
Oversee the preparation of schemes of work, lesson plans, and academic reports.
Manage and oversee daily school operations.
Supervise teaching and non-teaching staff.
Ensure student discipline, welfare, and overall development.
Prepare school reports and strategic development plans.
Manage school resources effectively and responsibly.
Ensure compliance with Ministry of Education policies and regulations.
Mentor, supervise, and evaluate teachers and support staff.
Organize staff meetings, training programs, and professional development initiatives.
Promote teamwork and maintain a positive working environment.
Participate in recruitment and orientation of new staff.
Promote students’ spiritual, academic, moral, and social development.
Ensure effective guidance and counselling services.
Handle disciplinary matters fairly and professionally.
Encourage participation in sports, clubs, and other co-curricular activities.
Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians.
Organize parent meetings and academic progress discussions.
Build positive relationships with the church, local community, and educational stakeholders.
Represent the school in educational and community forums.
Ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.
Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations.
Oversee student welfare and school security matters.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field.
Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
Registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in the education sector.
At least 5 years of experience in a leadership position within a secondary school.
Strong understanding of the Tanzanian Secondary Education Curriculum.
Proven track record of improving academic performance and student discipline.
Experience in teacher supervision, curriculum implementation, and student management.
Ability to mentor and lead staff both professionally and spiritually.
Strong administrative, financial, and organizational skills.
Experience in a Christian school environment will be an added advantage.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
Ability to maintain high standards of discipline and professionalism.
Commitment to Christian values, integrity, and moral leadership.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, teachers, church leaders, and community stakeholders.
Strong organizational, multitasking, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
Competence in ICT and school management systems.
