Key Responsibilities

The Fixed Asset Accountant will be responsible for:

• Maintaining the fixed asset register by recording acquisitions, transfers, disposals, impairments, and retirements.
• Calculating monthly depreciation and amortization expenses.
• Preparing and posting accounting entries related to fixed assets.
• Ensuring proper capitalization of assets according to accounting policies.
• Monitoring Construction-in-Progress (CIP) projects.
• Reconciling fixed asset records with the general ledger on a monthly basis.
• Preparing asset schedules for financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Supporting internal and external audit activities.
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Reviewing CAPEX requests and supporting investment decisions.
• Conducting physical asset verification and counts.
• Investigating and resolving asset discrepancies.
• Improving internal controls and asset management procedures.
• Collaborating with departments to strengthen asset tracking and reporting processes.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in fixed asset accounting.
• Experience using ERP systems such as SAGE, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
