Job Purpose:

To perform skilled fitting and mechanical work to install, maintain, diagnose, and repair a wide range of heavy mining and construction equipment (e.g., bulldozers, excavators, drill rigs, compressors, pumps) to ensure maximum operational availability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine preventive maintenance (PM) services as per manufacturer schedules.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults on heavy equipment.
• Dismantle, inspect, repair, reassemble, and test components and machinery.
• Fabricate and modify parts using cutting, welding, and machining techniques.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Accurately complete service reports, maintenance logs, and parts requisitions.
• Work collaboratively with other trades to complete major overhauls.
• Strictly adhere to all company safety, health, and environmental policies.
• Maintain tools and workshop equipment in good condition.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Full Trade Certificate (FTC) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Valid Tanzanian driving license is preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in mining or heavy civil construction.
• Proven track record of working in remote site locations.
• Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Relevant trade certification, vocational training, or operator licenses.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging outdoor environments.
• Fluency in Kiswahili; working knowledge of English is an advantage.
