Job title: Financial and Administration Assistant
Number of positions: 1
Location: Zanzibar
Required qualifications and experience
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of a diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- At least two (2) years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial management
- Proficiency in computer applications, especially accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and ability to maintain financial confidentiality
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Previous experience working with NGOs or Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) is an added advantage
Key roles and responsibilities
Financial duties
- Assist in recording and managing all financial transactions of ZANAB
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of income and expenditures
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Monitor payments, invoices, and financial claims
- Assist in budget preparation and expenditure tracking
- Support audit processes in accordance with donor and organizational requirements
- Ensure proper filing and safe custody of all financial documents
- Perform any other accounting duties assigned by the Chief Accountant or ZANAB management
Administration duties
- Provide general administrative support to ZANAB office operations
- Assist in managing office records, correspondence, and documentation
- Support coordination of meetings, schedules, and official communications
- Maintain proper filing systems for administrative and financial records
- Assist in procurement processes and office supplies management
- Support human resource administrative tasks such as staff records and attendance
- Perform any other accounting and administrative duties assigned by the Chief Accountant or ZANAB management
