Job title: Financial and Administration Assistant

Number of positions: 1

Location: Zanzibar

Required qualifications and experience

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of a diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • At least two (2) years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial management
  • Proficiency in computer applications, especially accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and ability to maintain financial confidentiality
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Previous experience working with NGOs or Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) is an added advantage

Key roles and responsibilities

Financial duties

  • Assist in recording and managing all financial transactions of ZANAB
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of income and expenditures
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Monitor payments, invoices, and financial claims
  • Assist in budget preparation and expenditure tracking
  • Support audit processes in accordance with donor and organizational requirements
  • Ensure proper filing and safe custody of all financial documents
  • Perform any other accounting duties assigned by the Chief Accountant or ZANAB management

Administration duties

  • Provide general administrative support to ZANAB office operations
  • Assist in managing office records, correspondence, and documentation
  • Support coordination of meetings, schedules, and official communications
  • Maintain proper filing systems for administrative and financial records
  • Assist in procurement processes and office supplies management
  • Support human resource administrative tasks such as staff records and attendance
  • Perform any other accounting and administrative duties assigned by the Chief Accountant or ZANAB management
