The Residence Zanzibar is a luxury five-star resort located on the southwest coast of Zanzibar, renowned for its world-class hospitality, elegant accommodations, and exceptional guest experiences. The resort offers a tranquil environment combined with premium services, making it one of the leading luxury destinations in the region.
The Duty Manager position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the resort during assigned shifts. The role ensures smooth coordination between departments, maintains high service standards, resolves guest concerns, and supports operational excellence to deliver outstanding guest satisfaction in a luxury hospitality environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily hotel operations and ensure smooth functioning of all departments during assigned shifts
- Handle guest complaints, requests, and feedback professionally and efficiently
- Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction through exceptional customer service
- Supervise and coordinate Front Office, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage teams during duty hours
- Conduct regular property inspections to maintain quality, cleanliness, and safety standards
- Manage guest check-in and check-out processes effectively
- Resolve guest-related issues and operational challenges promptly
- Act as the primary point of contact for guests and staff during assigned shifts
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and resort policies and procedures
- Support operational efficiency and maintain luxury service standards throughout the resort
Qualification required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar Duty Manager or hospitality management role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities
- Outstanding customer service and guest relations skills
- Familiarity with the PMS-Opera hotel management system
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of hotel operations and luxury hospitality standards
- French, Spanish, or German language proficiency is an added advantage
- Must be a local resident of Zanzibar
