The Driver position is a vital operational role responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of employees, equipment, and materials to various project sites and remote field locations. The role requires strong driving skills, knowledge of vehicle maintenance, and strict adherence to safety regulations and company procedures.
Responsibilities
The Driver will be responsible for operating company vehicles safely while supporting field operations and logistical activities. The role also involves vehicle maintenance, record keeping, and ensuring compliance with transport and safety regulations.
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies and traffic regulations
- Transport personnel, equipment, and materials to project sites and remote field locations
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance, pre-trip inspections, and minor repairs when necessary
- Maintain accurate vehicle logs, trip records, fuel consumption records, and fuel receipts
- Ensure compliance with traffic laws, company policies, and occupational safety regulations
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo and materials as required
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, or maintenance requirements promptly
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained at all times
- Support field teams by providing reliable transportation services during operational activities
- Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures while on duty
Qualifications
Candidates applying for this position should possess professional driving experience and demonstrate the ability to operate vehicles safely, particularly in remote or challenging environments. The ideal candidate should be reliable, safety-conscious, and possess basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.

- Form IV Certificate or equivalent secondary school education
- Valid Class C or E Driving License (or relevant class for passenger/commercial vehicles)
- NIT (National Institute of Transport) Driving Certificate or equivalent formal driving training
- Proven experience as a professional driver, preferably in remote or mining exploration environments
- Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics and troubleshooting
- Fluency in Swahili language
- Basic English communication skills
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques
- Ability to work in remote locations and under challenging conditions
- Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and professionalism
