This position is based at Johari Rotana in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
As the Director of Revenue, you will be responsible for maximizing revenue through room reservations by establishing proactive selling strategies and action plans. These initiatives should help the hotel achieve its budgeted revenue and maintain a healthy business.
Key responsibilities
The Director of Revenue will be responsible for:
- Designing and implementing continuous, proactive selling strategies and action plans that drive the optimization of hotel profits.
- Having the foresight to identify and capture unexpected opportunities.
- Developing and implementing recovery plans to counteract potential threats to the business.
- Overseeing the maximization of revenue through the combined efforts of the Reservations Sales and MICE Sales departments.
- Assisting the Director of Sales and Marketing with the preparation of month-end reports.
- Preparing the necessary data required for revenue budgets.
- Assisting the management team in preparing yearly budgets.
- Ensuring Rotana’s strategies and organizational structure are followed at all times.
Education, qualifications and experience
Candidates should ideally possess:
- A degree in hospitality or a related field.
- At least two years of experience in a similar role within the Reservations or Revenue Department of a hotel.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Previous experience using Opera, which is mandatory.
