Country HR Manager
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
We are seeking an experienced HR Country Manager to lead and drive the full people agenda across our operations in Tanzania. This role will be responsible for delivering a robust and integrated HR strategy aligned with business objectives, covering workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and organizational development, while also providing strategic oversight of East Africa operations from a capital perspective, ensuring effective workforce planning, cost optimisation, and alignment with regional growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance, employee relations, and offboarding
- Support managers on performance, disciplinary, and employee matters
- Ensure payroll inputs are accurate and submitted on time
- Maintain compliance with Tanzanian labour laws and statutory requirements (NSSF, WCF, etc.)
- Oversee expatriate processes including work permits, visas, and immigration compliance
- Ensure adherence to company policies and local content regulations
- Manage employee wellbeing, including medical and insurance programs
- Act as the HR representative in union matters and employee relations
- Support performance management processes across all teams
- Provide HR guidance and coaching to managers at site level
- Ensure effective HR communication across sites
- Support audits and legal matters when required
- Provide HR support and coordination across East Africa operations as required
- Travel to sites as needed to support operations
Requirements
- Degree in Business Administration, HR, Public Administration, Law (Law School completion will be an added advantage)
- 5 years’ experience in HR or related discipline at a managerial or senior level
- Proven experience in the mining sector is an added advantage
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Ability to work in a dynamic, multicultural environment
- Flexible approach, with the willingness to work outside normal hours if required
