Compliance Officer at Tabono Consult
The Compliance Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining internal control systems, compliance frameworks, and ethical guidelines that ensure Tabono Consult adheres to legal, regulatory, and internal policies. This role supports the company’s values of transparency, quality, and ethical behavior by proactively identifying risks and promoting a strong compliance culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s compliance policies and procedures, including Anti-Bribery, Whistleblowing, and Data Protection.
- Monitor and interpret relevant laws, regulations, and standards affecting the company’s operations.
- Ensure that the organization is compliant with all labor, tax, regulatory, and corporate governance obligations.
- Oversee and update the Quality Management and Assurance framework, including structure, responsibilities, and audit trails.
- Train and educate staff on compliance and ethical standards.
- Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Establish and maintain a whistleblowing mechanism and ensure confidential handling of complaints and reports.
- Report regularly to senior management on compliance risks, findings, and mitigation efforts.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, legal counsel, and clients as needed on compliance matters.
- Ensure compliance in financial disbursement processes and client fund management. · Support due diligence activities for new clients and partners.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Advanced Diploma in Law, Business Administration, Compliance, or related field. A postgraduate qualification or professional certification in compliance is an added advantage.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in compliance, risk management, audit, or a similar field.
- Strong and demonstrated knowledge of regulatory and legal compliance requirements in Tanzania (including the Companies Act, labor laws, and anti-corruption laws).
- Familiarity with Tender, project work compliance, financial accountability standards is desirable.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High ethical standards and integrity.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and compliance-related software tools
