Position Summary

The Communication and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for advancing the mission, visibility, and impact of UBORA Tanzania Foundation through strategic communication, storytelling, marketing, and stakeholder engagement. The position plays a critical role in promoting UBORA’s educational institutions, leadership development programs, scholarship initiatives, and community transformation efforts.

The successful candidate will develop compelling content, strengthen donor and sponsor relationships, support student recruitment and enrollment efforts, showcase program outcomes, and communicate the life-changing impact of UBORA’s work to local and international audiences.

Qualifications and Experience

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Mass Communication, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Professional certification in Digital Marketing, Communications, Branding, Graphic Design, Multimedia Production, or related disciplines will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of proven experience in communications, marketing, public relations, brand management, or related fields.
  • Experience working in education, non-profit, faith-based, youth development, or community development sectors will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in social media management, digital marketing, content creation, website management, and stakeholder communications.
  • Experience in photography, videography, storytelling, and donor communications is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Strong communication, branding, and marketing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Swahili.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Communications and Content Development

  • Develop and implement communication and marketing strategies that strengthen UBORA TZ’s brand, visibility, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Create awareness and promote enrollment for UBORA Tanzania STEM School and UBORA Leadership Pre and Primary School.
  • Capture high-quality photos, videos, testimonials, and success stories that showcase the impact of UBORA programs and initiatives.
  • Produce engaging multimedia content for websites, social media, newsletters, donor reports, presentations, and promotional materials.
  • Develop annual publications including yearbooks, calendars, brochures, and impact reports.
  • Generate and develop stories highlighting student achievement, leadership growth, spiritual formation, alumni success, and community transformation.
  • Collaborate with leadership and program teams to identify and communicate key milestones, outcomes, and impact stories.

Digital Marketing and Social Media Management

  • Manage and maintain UBORA TZ’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other emerging platforms.
  • Develop and execute social media campaigns that support student recruitment, fundraising, sponsorship engagement, and brand awareness objectives.
  • Create and publish engaging content aligned with UBORA TZ’s mission and strategic priorities.
  • Monitor digital engagement and provide regular performance reports and recommendations.
  • Maintain an organized and searchable digital media library including photographs, videos, and program documentation.

Donor, Sponsor, and Partner Engagement

  • Serve as a key communication link between sponsors, donors, partners, and UBORA TZ beneficiaries.
  • Maintain accurate sponsorship and donor records and ensure timely communication and reporting.
  • Coordinate sponsor correspondence, including letters, photographs, progress updates, and appreciation communications.
  • Develop sponsorship renewal communications and stewardship materials.
  • Create and maintain student, scholarship recipient, and beneficiary profiles and biographies.
  • Support the development and maintenance of strategic partnerships that advance UBORA's mission and sustainability.

Impact Reporting and Stakeholder Communications

  • Collect, analyze, and communicate program data, achievements, and impact indicators.
  • Prepare communication materials for donors, partners, board members, and international stakeholders.
  • Support reporting requirements through collection of stories, testimonials, photographs, and program outcomes.
  • Interview students, teachers, alumni, parents, community members, and partners to capture transformational stories.
  • Collaborate closely with school leadership and program managers to ensure consistent and impactful messaging.

Alumni and Community Engagement

  • Develop and maintain an alumni database and engagement platform for graduates of UBORA TZ programs.
  • Track alumni achievements and success stories for impact reporting and stakeholder engagement.
  • Coordinate alumni communications, networking opportunities, mentorship activities, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Support community outreach and public relations activities that strengthen UBORA’s presence and influence.

Administrative and Operational Support

  • Support communication-related logistics for events, donor visits, school activities, graduations, and community programs.
  • Maintain communication assets, media equipment, and digital content systems.
  • Assist in managing technology and communication resources provided through sponsorship and donor programs.
  • Perform other communication and marketing duties as assigned by management.
  • Develop and implement communication and marketing strategies that strengthen UBORA TZ’s brand, visibility, and stakeholder engagement.
