Interstate Farm Company limited is based and registered in Tanzania since November 2016. Is an agro business company aims in providing comprehensive business solutions for small holder farmers in Tanzania, deals in horticulture business, coffee processing and packaging and distribution/export. Interstate Farm ltd prides itself to establish a sustainable farmer-owned business model to benefit small farmers that can be replicable and scalable over a wide area. We are establishing the best quality service to small scale farmers through a range of assistance to the rural farmers’ in community.

By partnering with small farmers, we establish a quality input supply, farmer-owned transparent marketing system, a farmer-owned coffee Agro business, contract management services to small hold farmers, warehouse operation & logistics and high tech zero-till planters to small scale farmers as part of the introduction of Conservation Agriculture for sustained production.

We are promoting sustainable development by adopting an entrepreneurship strategy to increase food/crop production and incomes among the rural households in Africa.

We are currently looking to recruit new staffs for our coffee roaster unit based in Mbinga District – Ruvuma.
Coffee Roaster

The Job Summary: The Coffee Roaster position requires the key elements of a commitment to quality and a passion for coffee. You will be required to collaborate in coffee tastings and cuppings, learn and demonstrate an understanding of the fundamentals of coffee roasting, and manage quality control throughout the roasting process and distribution.

Job Responsibilities:
• To run all roasting systems, which includes greens thrower and batcher.
• To maintaining accurate and thorough data collection
• To perform maintenance on roasting equipment
• To troubleshoot production issues and communicate those issues with the team
• To participate in daily coffee tastings
• To participate in product coding and date/lot coding
• To design and implement safety standards and maintaining a safe work environment
• Demonstrate basic computer skills

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE
• Minimum certificate in coffee roasting, Barista, Agro business or related fields obtained from a recognized Institution.
• At least three (3) years relevant work experience in a reputable coffee roaster/coffee bar/ coffee processing industry or related institutions.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to prepare reports in a concise and focused style.
• Advanced computer skills especially in spread sheets, database and presentation
• Preferred Competencies
• Ability to identify and manage business risks.
• Ability to have an understanding of roaster curves, burner ratios, and roast styles
• Ability to carry out project appraisal monitoring and evaluation Qualifications
More experience will have an added advantage
