Kijenge Animal Products Limited (KAPL) is seeking a Chinese Language Interpreter. (1 Position) Employment Type: Specific Tender. Location: Arusha. The Chinese Interpreter & Translator will provide accurate and professional language support across spoken and written communications between KAPL employees and Chinese-speaking parties. The role requires availability for meetings, negotiations, site visits, correspondence, and document translation at short notice.
Responsibilities or duties
- Provide real-time oral interpretation during meetings, negotiations, plant visits, and business discussions involving Chinese-speaking partners or clients.
- Translate written documents including contracts, correspondence, technical manuals, emails, and reports between Mandarin Chinese and English and Swahili where required.
- Accompany senior management during business engagements requiring Chinese language facilitation.
- Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and professional conduct in all interpretation and translation assignments.
- Maintain organized records of translated documents and communication logs.
- Liaise with Chinese suppliers and partners on behalf of KAPL management as directed.
- Flag and clarify cultural nuances or communication gaps that may affect business relationships.
- Support documentation of business agreements and technical specifications in both languages.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Degree or Diploma in Chinese Language, Translation, Linguistics, International Relations, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (HSK Level 5 or 6 preferred) with strong written and spoken command of Swahili and English.
- Familiarity with business trade (import and export) and technical terminology in both Chinese and English.
- Exceptional listening, comprehension, and verbal communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in both written and oral work.
- Integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of business information.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic business situations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel when required.
Experience needed
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in interpretation or translation, preferably in a business, manufacturing, or trade environment.

- Candidates who have studied or worked in China will have an added advantage.
- Possessing a valid international passport is an added advantage.
