Job Summary:

The Cashier is responsible for managing financial transactions, processing payments, and handling customer queries at the point of sale. This role ensures accuracy in billing and maintains the integrity of the lounge's daily revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

Transaction Processing: Accurately process customer payments via cash, credit/debit cards, or mobile money (e.g., M-Pesa).

Billing: Prepare and present itemized bills to customers; ensure all orders are correctly charged.

Reconciliation: Count the float at the start of the shift and balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all daily transactions and receipts using the POS system.

Customer Service: Handle customer inquiries regarding bills; resolve discrepancies politely and professionally.

Reporting: Prepare daily sales reports and submit them to management.

Security: Guard cash against theft and adhere to all financial security procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education: Minimum of Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE). A Certificate in Accounting/Finance is an added advantage.

Experience: 1+ years of experience as a Cashier in a busy hospitality setting.

Skills: Proficient in using POS systems and basic math; high level of integrity and honesty.

Attributes: Detail-oriented, trustworthy, and calm under pressure.
