Background

Mascons Tanzania Limited is a Tanzanian company engaged in construction activities, rental of plant and heavy machinery, as well as the supply of construction materials. Due to the expansion of its operations, the company invites applications from qualified and experienced Tanzanians for the following positions:

Responsibilities

• Earthmoving Operations: Operate the bulldozer to push, level, and spread large quantities of materials like dirt, rock, clay, sand, and rubble in settings such as road construction, mining, and building sites.
• Site Grading: Drive the bulldozer in successive passes over terrain, following markings on grade stakes or hand signals, to raise or lower the terrain to the specified grade.
• Attachment Control: Move levers and depress pedals to maneuver the tractor and control the blade, raising, lowering, and tilting the attachment to clear right-of-ways or perform other tasks.
• Machine Maintenance: Grease, oil, and perform minor repairs on the bulldozer using hand tools, and ensure the equipment is clean and in proper working order.
• Pre-Operational Checks: Conduct checks before each shift, listening for engine performance and feeling for proper operation to estimate depth of cut and adjust accordingly.
• Knowledge Application: Apply knowledge of earthmoving fundamentals such as soil characteristics, ground conditions, and map reading to ensure safe and effective operation.

Qualifications

• Must have experience operating the relevant machine or equipment.
• Must have a valid driving license permitting the operation of the relevant machine or equipment.
• Must have an understanding of health and safety procedures in the workplace.
• Must be disciplined, honest, responsible, and capable of working effectively.

These positions are for Casual Employment. However, good work performance, discipline, accountability, and dedication may enable an employee to be offered permanent employment based on company needs and performance evaluation.
