Objective of the Role: to support efficient and high-quality crop production through active monitoring of irrigation, climate conditions, and farm hygiene, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely reporting and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage computerised greenhouse irrigation systems and climate systems.
- Conduct regular soil, water, and substrate sampling and coordinate external analysis.
- Maintain accurate crop production records and climate data.
- Supervise labour teams, plan work schedules, and ensure leave coordination.
- Train staff on irrigation, climate systems, and workplace health and safety.
Qualification and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, Irrigation Engineering or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of irrigation scheduling, climate control systems and crop production processes.
- Over 5 years of work experience in a similar role and in a green house setting.
- Proven ability to supervise and guide teams effectively, ensuring high-quality performance.
- Hands on experience with soil, water and substrate sampling and analysis.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with local and international teams.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in working with multiple related software with proficiency in data collection, analysis, and record keeping using agricultural software.
