HR World Limited on behalf of our client, we are looking for an Assistant Operations Manager– Fleet and Transport who will be responsible for assisting in transportation department, managing fleet assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational excellence to support business growth.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in mentoring, and developing a team of dispatchers, driver supervisors, maintenance coordinators, and administrative staff to ensure smooth departmental operations.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance and repair programs to keep all vehicles in optimal condition and compliant with SUMATRA regulations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor transportation tasks to ensure timely, safe, and efficient delivery of goods to customer-specified locations.
  • Optimize routes and dispatch schedules to maximize utilization, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage budgets, monitor fuel consumption, and analyze fleet lifecycle costs to optimize return on assets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders, while resolving operational issues and customer complaints.
  • Lead accident investigations, implement corrective actions, and organize regular driver safety training sessions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree or professional certification e.g., CILT is an advantage).
  • 5–8 years of professional experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
  • Proven team management experience with strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software (TMS) and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Strong financial acumen with expertise in budgeting, cost control, and operational reporting.
