The Switzerland-Tanzania Chamber of Commerce (STCC) in Dar Es Salaam is offering a full-time, 6-month internship that will give you an interesting insight into the inner workings of a Swiss bilateral chamber of commerce. As an Academic Intern, you will assist the Executive Director in his duties. Your scope of work will include analytical, editorial and organisational tasks, as well as external contacts with key partners of the Chamber. You will report to the Executive Director.

The varied and diversified field of activity will give you a good overview of the different areas of a bilateral chamber, from private sector activities to economic diplomacy.

Your Tasks

  • Researching and writing Business Updates on current economic issues.
  • Managing STCC's social media networks (LinkedIn and Instagram).
  • Assisting with the organisation of events (conferences, cocktail parties, courtesy visits, etc.).
  • Assisting with administrative tasks.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree obtained in the year preceding the start of the position in a relevant field (Economics, Law, International Relations, Business Administration).
  • Tanzanian citizenship or possession of a valid residence and work permit in Tanzania valid until the end of the planned internship.
  • Good analytical and writing skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented.
  • Strong interest in economic issues.
  • Interest in events, communication, and social networking.
  • Confident and professional presentation.
  • Intercultural skills.
  • Very good knowledge of English and Swahili; knowledge of French or German is an added advantage.
