Job Purpose
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on installed systems and infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted service delivery. This includes mechanical and electrical upkeep, equipment repairs, and support during system upgrades or replacements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electronic components.
- Inspect, test, and calibrate equipment at stations and technical locations.
- Assist in troubleshooting breakdowns and determining root causes of faults.
- Support installations, component replacements, and infrastructure repairs.
- Maintain logs of maintenance activities and ensure tools are in good condition.
- Coordinate with technical and engineering teams to execute maintenance schedules.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and operational standards.
- Report any anomalies, potential hazards, or technical risks proactively.
Education
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Maintenance.
- Training in electrical safety and equipment handling is an added advantage. .
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a maintenance technician or related technical role.
- Experience working with mechanical gates, electronic components, or low-voltage systems is preferred.
Must Have
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
- Hands-on ability to use tools, test instruments, and repair kits.
- Understanding of technical drawings, schematics, or manuals.
- Team player with good communication and documentation habits.
- Physically fit and capable of working in varied field conditions.
Performance
Metrics Timeliness and quality of maintenance tasks completed Downtime reduction of serviced equipment Accuracy of maintenance records and issue reporting Tool readiness and spare parts utilization Compliance with technical and safety standards
