Job Purpose
The Network Engineer will design, implement, and support the secure and efficient communication infrastructure required for EvMak’s technology projects. This includes managing LAN/WAN configurations, VPN tunnels, firewalls, and ensuring reliable data connectivity across stations, control centers, and backend systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy secure and scalable network topologies to support technology systems and field infrastructure.
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Set up and manage site-to-site VPNs (e.g., IPsec tunnels using strong Swan or FortiGate).
- Monitor network performance, uptime, and bandwidth utilization; optimize as needed.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues between application servers, client devices, and external partners.
- Enforce network security policies, including segmentation, intrusion prevention, and access control.
- Collaborate with system administrators and software teams to support deployments and integrations.
- Maintain accurate network documentation including diagrams, IP plans, and configuration backups.
- Participate in audits, testing, and failover simulations to validate business continuity plans.
- Support real-time monitoring of data communication infrastructure at control centers.
Education
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or related field.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or MikroTik MTCNA are highly desirable.
Experience
- At least 3 years of experience managing enterprise networks or large multi-site infrastructures.
- Strong background in configuring Cisco, MikroTik, Fortinet, or Ubiquiti network equipment. Proven experience working with VPN protocols, firewall rules, and secure remote access solutions.
Must Have
Key Skills & Competencies
- Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, subnetting, and NAT.
- Experience with firewall management, network monitoring tools, and traffic shaping.
- Ability to configure VPN tunnels (IPsec, L2TP, OpenVPN) and route policies.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills under pressure.
- Familiarity with tools like Wireshark, PRTG, or Zabbix for diagnostics.
- Capable of working independently on remote site configurations and support.
- Performance Metrics Network uptime ≥ 99.9% Timely resolution of network-related incidents Successful VPN connections and external integrations Documentation completeness and accuracy Security compliance with internal policies
