Resourceful Hub, on behalf of our client in the manufacturing industry, is seeking to hire a skilled and hands-on Workshop Manager. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities to oversee the maintenance workshop and ensure all machinery, vehicles, and equipment are maintained to the highest operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise all workshop activities, including machinery and vehicle maintenance, repair, and servicing.
- Ensure timely scheduling and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Manage workshop workflows to minimize equipment downtime and maximize productivity.
- Supervise and mentor a team of technicians, mechanics, and support staff.
- Allocate daily tasks, monitor performance, and provide technical guidance.
- Foster a safe, organized, and motivated working environment.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of tools, spare parts, and consumables.
- Ensure timely procurement and proper storage of workshop materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and prevent wastage or misuse.
- Enforce health and safety standards across all workshop activities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and tool audits.
- Prepare and manage the workshop budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Track and report on maintenance costs, equipment availability, and workshop KPIs.
- Generate and present maintenance and operations reports to management.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related technical field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in workshop management, maintenance, or mechanical operations—preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse technical team.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
- Excellent planning, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an added advantage.
