JOB DETAILS:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Role focuses on delivering high – quality rubber lining, ceramic tiling, and HDPE pipe fusion welding services across the process plant and associated external areas including Nyankanga Dam, TSF, Lone cone, Caf Plant and Dabenco water treatment plant. These specialized tasks are critical to ensuring   equipment longevity, operational efficiency and workplace safety.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Trade test Grade two or Level three in arc/fusion welding.
• Must Possess Tanzania Driving License.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 3 years working as Rubberizer in the mining industry on the following, Material selection, Maintenance and repairs, Mill lining, Primer and cement applications, HDPE welding.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:

• HDPE Welding Techniques
• Hot and Cold Splice Technique
• Take and read measurements
• Tiling and rubber lining technique
• Use of SC2000 Solvent
• Creativity
• Skills in mixing compounds
• Confined space work

MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Safety

• Adhere to safety requirement/procedures such as take 5, JSA and Isolations
• Proactive managing and reducing all hazards in your area of responsibility
• Maintain housekeeping in area of responsibility
• Driving the risk assessment process within area of responsibility by using a Take 5 tool
• Maintain housekeeping to the area of responsibility to prevent hazards
• Hazards identified within main workshop, Outside support section and CAF plants

Rubberizing and Ceramic Tiling Projects: (Entire Process Plant, TSF, Lone Cone, Nyankanga, Caf and Dabenco)

• Repair ball and Sag mill shell (During mills Relining)
• Repair Water Pond membrane -plastic carpets.
• Strip and replace worn out tiles on launders, chutes and pipes.
• Strip and replace linatex rubber on launders, chutes, and pipes
• Rubberize agitator shafts.
• Application of solvent and SC2000 on a work surface
•  Mixing of hardener and proper application of motor bond on a work surface.
•  Replacement of trash and carbon safety screen Cloth.
• Mixing of hardener and proper application of Cera-line on the wear joints/surface
• Application of belazona and Sika flex compounds on a work piece

PVC/HDPE -Butt- Welding Joints

• Fabrication and installation of HDPE pipe.
• Electric Fusing of HDPE joints.
•  Identification of right stubs for the right application
•  Identification of sizes and Classes of HDPE. (PN12, PN10, PN6, PN16)
• Identification of welding melting temperatures.

Conveyor Belts Pulley Lagging

• Sizing of ceramic tiles for pulley lagging and its application
• Sizing of linatex rubber lagging and SC2000 solvent applications
•  Proper mixing of hardener and motor bond application for ceramic lagging

Machines /Equipment Operation

• Cut HDPE pipes by using Chain saw,
• Fusion welding activity by using HDPE- Butt-poly Welding Machine,
• Smoothening of work surface by using Angle grinder,
• Make the surface dry by using Blower,
• Fusion welding of membrane/carpet by using Heat gun
• Sizing Ceramic Tiles to fit the work piece by using cutting machine

Quality Control

•  Maintain the required melting temperature on a weld joint
• Testing and Inspections
• Measurements and Evaluation
• Identifying deviations and defects
• Maintaining Consistency
