Job Summary:

The Technical Expert serves as the highest level of diagnostic authority within the workshop. This role is responsible for solving complex and intermittent technical issues that other technicians cannot resolve. They act as a mentor to the technical team, a liaison with the manufacturer for technical support, and ensure that all repairs meet the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advanced Diagnostics: Perform complex electrical, mechanical, and electronic diagnostics on various vehicle systems using advanced scan tools, oscilloscopes, and software.
• Complex Repairs: Execute intricate repairs, including engine overhauls, transmission rebuilds, and advanced electrical system troubleshooting.
• Technical Support: Act as the go-to resource for other technicians, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical advice.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct final quality checks on vehicles repaired by other technicians to ensure work is performed correctly and safely (often referred to as "foreman" duties).
• Technical Communication: Document and communicate complex technical issues with the manufacturer’s technical support hotline. Prepare detailed reports for warranty claims.
• Training: Assist in conducting internal training sessions to upskill the technician team on new models, systems, and repair procedures.
• Specialized Tooling: Manage and maintain specialized workshop tools and diagnostic equipment, ensuring they are calibrated and in good working order.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in Automotive Technology preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience as an automotive technician, with at least 2 years as a senior or master technician.
• Certification: ASE Master Technician certification (or equivalent local/national certification) mandatory. Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Skills: Expert knowledge of vehicle systems (EV, Hybrid, ICE), advanced diagnostic logic, and strong communication skills.
