Position: Technical Analyst – Preventative Maintenance (Re-advertised)

Reports to: Technical Manager

Job location: Arusha, Tanzania

Objective of the role

The Technical Analyst – Preventative Maintenance will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive preventative maintenance program. The role aims to minimize equipment downtime, optimize operational efficiency, and ensure the longevity of equipment.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing a proactive preventative maintenance strategy to ensure minimal equipment downtime and optimized farm operations.
  • Conducting technical analyses and generating reports on equipment performance, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Leading, training, and supervising the maintenance team while ensuring safety compliance and adherence to farm protocols.
  • Managing inventory levels by ensuring adequate stocks of spare parts and coordinating timely reorders as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and operational standards, while guiding team members to follow all company and statutory requirements.
  • Assisting the Technical Manager in ensuring proper environmental upkeep across the entire farm.

Qualification and skills

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment maintenance, with a focus on preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Strong technical knowledge of farm equipment, irrigation, climate control systems, and mechanical infrastructure.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to train, supervise, and motivate a maintenance team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse technical data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and compliance regulations, with a strong commitment to maintaining safe work environments.
  • Proficiency in generating and interpreting technical reports and ensuring alignment with company protocols and industry standards.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in working with multiple related software, including maintenance management systems and data analysis tools.
