Job Summary

The Tailor is responsible for the alteration, repair, and maintenance of uniforms, linens, and guest garments to ensure a professional appearance and high-quality standard. This role requires precision, creativity, and strong garment construction skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, sew, and alter uniforms, suits, dresses, and other garments.
• Repair damaged uniforms, linens, curtains, and upholstery as needed.
• Fit and adjust garments for staff and guests to ensure proper fit and comfort.
• Maintain and operate sewing machines, sergers, and other tailoring equipment.
• Keep an accurate inventory of fabrics, threads, buttons, and other materials.
• Coordinate with department heads to prioritize alteration requests.
• Ensure all finished garments meet quality and appearance standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist in uniform distribution and record-keeping.
• Report equipment malfunctions and supply needs to the supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven experience as a Tailor, Seamstress, or Seamster.
• Formal training in tailoring, fashion design, or garment construction is preferred.
• Proficiency in using industrial and domestic sewing machines.
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, patterns, and garment construction.
• Ability to work with precision and meet tight deadlines.
• Good eyesight and manual dexterity.
• Basic math skills for measurements and inventory.
