WWF Tanzania Country Office (WWF TCO) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to the conservation of nature and sustainable development. WWF TCO collaborates with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders on various initiatives to protect biodiversity, promote natural resource governance, and support climate resilience. The organization's mission is to stop degradation of the earth’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature.

WWF TCO is currently implementing a project titled “Sustainable use of mangroves in the Western Indian Ocean project” funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The project is implemented in 10 villages in Kilwa District and 9 shehias in Mkoani District, Pemba, and aims to address key drivers of mangrove degradation and loss. The BNZ Project uses an integrated approach focusing on Building the capacity of coastal communities by strengthening local institutions and legal frameworks; Providing tools necessary for sustainable mangrove management; Promoting sustainable use of mangrove resources including community livelihoods improvement; Enhancing enabling policy environments; and Promoting knowledge sharing and best practices across the region.

As part of its livelihood work package, the project works with community-based groups to enhance income-generating activities through grants in the form of equipment and materials. In this regard, WWF Tanzania invites eligible and competent local companies/firms to supply the following items:

1. BOAT AND ACCESSORIES

2. SOLAR PANEL AND BATTERY

Important to Note:

• All equipment and materials must be delivered within 30 days (one-1 month) after contract signing.
• The supplier is responsible for delivery of all equipment and installation of the solar systems.
• Community livelihood local person from KIWADONA Group and the WWF Project Officer will inspect to ensure the supplies align with the agreed needs and specifications.

Namatungutungu village in Kilwa district (Prior delivery for verification: at WWF - Tanzania)
