Job Description
- To ensure the correctness in the quality, quantity, specifications, condition of the materials received from vendors. To stock the materials received from vendors properly as to ensure easy access identification, verification, handling, maintenance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Daily reporting to HQ based on minute-to-minute movement in and out of materials received.
- Exercise general control over all activities in Stores by logbook using in and out material movement daily and per item. Units and quantities should be correctly recorded.
- Check the quality and quantity of materials sent directly to the site as well as those received from HQ
- Receive and inspect all incoming materials and reconcile with purchase orders; process and distribute documentation with purchase orders.
- Reserve a particular material for a specific job when so required and issue materials only in required quantities against authorized requisition notes/material lists.
- Check the book balances, with the actual physical stock at frequent intervals by way of internal control over wrong issues, pilferage, etc. This includes fuel and Equipment and Machinery on site
- Weekly stock balances are to be sent to the procurement head at HQ.
- Answers questions regarding procedures and resolve discrepancies regarding receipts, deliveries, warranties, repairs, and surplus supply.
- Maintaining the outside area of the stores and yard in a safe clean and tidy condition.
- All items utilized per day should be signed by the store’s person, Site QS, and Engineer.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher diploma in procurement
- 5+ years of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or recordkeeping
- Work experience with a reputable construction company would be an added advantage.
- Construction material knowledge is mandatory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage time.
- Organizational, verbal, and written communication skills a must.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is an asset.
- He/she must pass practical written exams.
Key Performance Indicators
- Zero errors on daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Positive feedback from the Internal Audit Dept
- Number of times proactiveness was identified especially on fast-moving construction items.
- Zero theft on sites both materials and Fuel.
- Timeliness of submitting daily logbook on all items utilized on-site per item both quantities and measurements.
