Position Summary:
The Storekeeper is responsible for the efficient receiving, storage, and issuance of all hotel supplies, food, and beverage items. This role maintains accurate inventory records and ensures the storeroom is organized, secure, and operates according to hotel standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Properly store items in designated areas using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method.
- Issue stock to departments based on authorized requisition forms.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date bin cards and perpetual inventory records.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile with system records.
- Ensure the storeroom is clean, organized, and secure at all times.
- Monitor stock levels and alert supervisors of low stock or potential shortages.
- Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation standards in the storeroom.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Secondary education; a diploma in supply chain or related field is an advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a storekeeper, preferably in a hotel or hospital.
- Hotel or hospitality background is an added advantage.
- Basic computer skills and numerical ability.
- Honest, organized, and physically fit for lifting and moving stock.
- Good communication skills.
