Neema Orphanage Centre is seeking for a qualified Tanzanian national candidate for the position of Social Worker. If you are a motivated, passionate, and compassionate professional with expertise in social work, and you share our belief that every child deserves to live a dignified life and has the potential to become a valuable, contributing member of their community, we encourage you to apply. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily care, guidance, and emotional support to children under the orphanage’s care.
  • Ensure the children’s basic needs, including food, shelter, health, and education, are met.
  • Collaborate with local government authorities, community leaders, and partners to address child welfare issues.
  • Organize and implement educational, spiritual, and recreational activities to promote the holistic development of children.
  • Monitor and document the physical, emotional, and academic progress of each child.
  • Advocate for children’s rights and support reintegration efforts where possible, including tracing families.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing environment at the orphanage.
  • Assist in fundraising activities and the preparation of reports for donors, stakeholders and the government.
  • Support the spiritual growth of the children by participating in and facilitating regular devotions and church services.
  • Provide counselling and trauma support to children facing emotional challenges.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to identify and implement strategies for improving the quality of care at the orphanage.

Qualifications:

  • A must be a Tanzania national with 22 years old and above.
  • A bachelor’s degree in social work, only with good academic background.
  • Acceptable management, planning and leadership skills and good reporting skills.
  • High computer usage skills, including Microsoft Office Package.
  • Must demonstrate strong proficiency in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
  • Strong Christian values and a passion for serving others.
  • Experience working with children in vulnerable situations is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
