Senior Officer – ICT

HR World Limited, on behalf of our client, is seeking to recruit a qualified, experienced, and technically competent Senior Officer – ICT who will be responsible for managing the organization’s IT infrastructure, Core Banking Systems, servers, networks, cybersecurity, IT support, and technology vendors while ensuring reliable, secure, and compliant ICT operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement network infrastructure plans to support current and future business requirements.
• Design, configure, maintain, and monitor LANs, WANs, WLANs, and VPNs.
• Manage wireless networks and digital communication infrastructure to ensure reliable connectivity.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure timely resolution of incidents.
• Manage network hardware upgrades, firmware updates, routers, switches, and related infrastructure.
• Administer, maintain, and provide technical support for Core Banking Systems (CBS).
• Monitor CBS server performance, system logs, and user activities to ensure reliable operations.
• Manage CBS user accounts, access permissions, and security configurations.
• Implement, test, and document CBS patches, upgrades, and system changes.
• Maintain accurate records of CBS patches, nafasi za kazi changes, implementation status, and outcomes.
• Install, configure, and administer Windows and Linux operating systems and servers.
• Implement and monitor backup, restoration, business continuity, and disaster recovery processes.
• Ensure the availability, integrity, performance, and security of IT systems and infrastructure.
• Ensure ICT systems and processes comply with organizational policies and applicable regulatory requirements, including Bank of Tanzania (BOT) standards.
• Conduct periodic security assessments and participate in disaster recovery drills.
• Provide technical support for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
• Train staff on IT systems, cybersecurity practices, and relevant ICT policies.
• Maintain records of IT incidents, resolutions, recurring issues, and service-level performance.
• Coordinate with IT vendors and service providers to ensure quality and reliable service delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in IT systems, network, infrastructure, or systems administration.
• Previous experience in banking or financial services is highly preferred.
• Proven hands-on experience in Core Banking System (CBS) administration and technical support.
• Knowledge of IT security, data protection, backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery practices.
• Knowledge of ICT regulatory and compliance requirements, particularly within the banking and financial services environment.
