Job Summary
The Sales Executive is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and promoting the hotel's accommodation, dining, meeting, and event facilities. The role involves developing sales strategies, generating leads, negotiating contracts, and ensuring exceptional customer service while supporting the achievement of the hotel's sales and occupancy targets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities within the corporate, leisure, government, travel trade, and MICE markets.
- Generate qualified sales leads and convert them into business opportunities.
- Promote the hotel's rooms, restaurants, conference facilities, and other hospitality services.
- Conduct sales presentations, client visits, and property tours for prospective clients.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and contracts tailored to client requirements.
- Negotiate rates and service agreements while ensuring profitability.
- Achieve individual and departmental sales targets.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, tour operators, event planners, and other key stakeholders.
- Maintain regular communication with existing clients to encourage repeat business and customer loyalty.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries and provide professional after-sales support.
- Address client concerns efficiently to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Market Research & Business Intelligence
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
- Identify emerging business opportunities and recommend strategies to increase market share.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of prospective and existing clients.
- Participate in networking events, trade shows, exhibitions, and sales missions to promote the hotel.
Sales Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and business opportunities using the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
- Monitor sales performance against established targets and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure proper documentation of contracts, bookings, and correspondence.
Collaboration & Operational Support
- Work closely with Reservations, Front Office, Food & Beverage, and Events teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Coordinate with the Marketing team to support promotional campaigns and brand awareness initiatives.
- Assist in planning and executing hotel promotions, packages, and seasonal campaigns.
- Represent the hotel professionally while upholding Marriott's service standards and brand values.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Sales & Marketing, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism Management, or a related field.
- Professional training in hospitality sales or marketing is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems.
Experience
- Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in hotel sales, hospitality sales, or business development.
- Experience in a reputable hotel or international hospitality brand is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of the Zanzibar tourism and hospitality market is desirable.
