Background
The Tunduma City Council has officially announced 100 contract job opportunities for qualified Tanzanian citizens to work as Revenue Collectors (Tax Collectors) for a period of three months. The announcement was issued by the City Director on 8 June 2026 as part of efforts to strengthen the collection of local government revenue within the municipality.
Key Responsibilities
Successful applicants will be responsible for:
- Collecting municipal revenue using Electronic Point of Sale (POS) machines.
- Ensuring all collected funds are deposited into council bank accounts on time.
- Verifying that all revenue due to the council is collected accurately.
- Maintaining proper accounting and financial records.
- Safeguarding and properly operating revenue collection devices.
- Preparing and submitting daily revenue collection reports.
- Performing any other duties assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Tanzanian citizen.
- Have completed Form Four, Form Six, or hold a Certificate qualification and possess basic smartphone skills.
- Not be employed by the Government.
- Be between 18 and 45 years of age.
- Have no criminal record.
- Submit a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with contact information.
- Provide the names and contacts of two referees.
- Attach copies of academic certificates and birth certificate.
- Possess a National Identification Number (NIDA) or National ID.
- Be willing to work at any revenue collection point within Tunduma City.
- Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and accountability in handling public funds.
- Be ready to attend training and comply with municipal regulations and guidelines.
