The Key Purpose of this role is to operate, monitor, and maintain packaging process equipment to achieve optimal equipment effectiveness, product quality, and operational performance. The role is responsible for machine operation, autonomous maintenance, process monitoring, problem-solving, continuous improvement activities, and coaching operational teams to ensure safe and efficient packaging operations.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Carry out brand pack changes.
- Perform autonomous maintenance.
- Regularly checks to ensure correct set up and operation.
- Monitor process performance.
- Supports development, training and coach operational teams to ensure optimal operation.
- Assist in problem solving processes pertaining to specific process area.
- Provides knowledge in all continuous improvement activities aimed at improving process capability of specific plant/process area.
- Coaches and assesses staff as required.
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment.

- Strong technical aptitude and mechanical awareness.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Vigilance and the ability to respond quickly to operational issues.
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Minimum Requirements:
- A Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Summatively assessed and competent on at least two packaging machines.
- 3 years’ experience in working in a packaging process environment.
- Proven SAB performance track record and prior performance history.
