Summary:
On behalf of our client in the food processing industry, we are seeking a competent and experienced Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Manager to oversee workshop operations and ensure the efficient and safe management of all mechanical and electrical activities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, uphold high operational standards, and foster a culture of integrity, safety, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the workshop
- Prepare and manage staff rosters
- Plan and oversee routine and preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment
- Identify faults and ensure timely repair of mechanical and electrical systems
- Lead staff training and capacity-building initiatives
- Prepare and submit regular reports on operations, maintenance, and performance
- Participate actively in management meetings
- Placing and tracking orders for spare parts and tools through the procurement department.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, including the use of appropriate safety gear at all times
- Safeguard workshop assets by preventing pilferage and ensuring the safe handling and storage of tools, equipment, and materials
- Foster a harmonious and productive working environment
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, order, and organization in the workshop
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in workshop or maintenance management
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, maintenance practices, and safety standards
- Experience in report writing
