As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and strategic professional to lead our Marketing, Public Relations, and Winner Services functions.
About the Role
The Marketing, PR and Winner Services Manager will serve as the brand custodian for the National Lottery in Tanzania, driving sales through effective and innovative marketing strategies. The role is responsible for maximising owned, earned, and paid media platforms, while ensuring strong public relations and exceptional winner services to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
This role will lead cross-functional teams and oversee the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns, stakeholder engagement strategies, and customer service excellence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement integrated marketing and PR strategies aligned with business objectives
- Act as the brand custodian, ensuring consistent brand positioning and messaging across all channels
- Manage and oversee advertising, media, and PR agencies to deliver impactful campaigns
- Drive customer acquisition, retention, and brand growth initiatives
- Lead market research efforts and analyse campaign performance to inform decision-making
- Oversee winner services to ensure exceptional customer experience and satisfaction
- Manage stakeholder communications, including media relations and corporate affairs
- Coordinate marketing initiatives across multiple channels (digital and traditional)
- Provide sales support through targeted marketing programs
- Develop and manage budgets for marketing, PR, and winner services functions
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Lead, mentor, and manage the Marketing, PR, and Winner Services teams
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
- Postgraduate qualification in Marketing or Business is an added advantage
- Project Management certification is preferred
Experience
- 8 years’ minimum experience in marketing management and public relations
- Proven experience managing multi-stakeholder projects in a deadline-driven environment
- Experience in developing and executing complex marketing programs
- Experience in FMCG or a regulated industry is an added advantage
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of marketing principles, advertising channels, and campaign planning
- In-depth knowledge of public relations, media engagement, and crisis management
- Strong customer service knowledge, particularly in managing customer-facing operations
- Strategic planning and execution capabilities
- Budget management and resource optimisation skills
- Proficiency in marketing analytics and performance measurement
- Strong understanding of market trends and consumer behaviour
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements
