The Managing Partner will be responsible for driving revenue growth, winning new business, strengthening the company’s market position, managing strategic client relationships and leading the delivery of high-quality HR consulting services.
The ideal candidate must have strong experience in recruitment, training, HR advisory or related professional services, together with an established network of corporate decision-makers and the ability to convert relationships into sustainable business opportunities.
The role requires an assertive but professional business developer, a disciplined leader, a strong negotiator and a results-oriented individual who takes full ownership of targets and outcomes
Responsibilities
1. Business Development and Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute the company’s business growth and market expansion strategy.
- Identify, pursue and close new business opportunities across recruitment, executive search, training, HR advisory, payroll, outsourcing and related services.
- Build and manage a strong, qualified and sustainable sales pipeline.
- Generate leads through existing networks, referrals, strategic partnerships, professional associations, events and direct corporate engagement.
- Prepare and present compelling proposals, tenders, pitches and service agreements.
- Negotiate commercial terms and close profitable contracts.
- Consistently meet or exceed agreed monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Identify and introduce new services and revenue streams in response to market demand.
2. Client Relationship Management
- Leverage an existing database and network of corporate clients, CEOs, HR leaders, business owners, development partners and institutional decision-makers.
- Develop long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Serve as a trusted HR advisor to senior executives and organisational leaders.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction, retention, repeat business and referrals.
- Regularly engage key accounts to identify cross-selling and additional consulting opportunities.
- Resolve client concerns professionally while protecting the company’s reputation and commercial interests.
3. HR Consulting and Service Delivery
- Provide strategic oversight across recruitment, training, HR advisory and related consulting assignments.
- Lead major recruitment and executive search projects from client acquisition through successful placement.
- Support the design and delivery of customised training and organisational development programmes.
- Provide practical HR advisory support in organisational design, performance management, talent management, employee engagement, HR policy and workforce planning.
- Ensure all assignments are delivered professionally, on time, within budget and according to agreed quality standards.
- Maintain strong quality-control systems across all consulting services.
4. Team Recruitment and Leadership
- Recruit, develop and lead a high-performing team of consultants, recruiters, business development professionals, trainers and support staff.
- Establish clear performance targets, responsibilities and accountability syst
- Coach and mentor team members to improve productivity, sales performance, client service and professional capability.
- Build a performance-driven culture based on ownership, integrity, excellence, innovation and measurable results.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and take corrective action where targets are not being achieved.
- Develop a reliable pool of associate consultants, facilitators and recruitment specialists.
5. Strategy and Operational Management
- Work closely with the Founder and CEO to implement the company’s strategic plan.
- Translate strategic priorities into measurable commercial and operational targets.
- Monitor business performance, profitability, cash flow, client acquisition and service-delivery indicators.
- Prepare regular management reports covering revenue, sales pipeline, projects, team performance, risks and growth opportunities.
- Strengthen internal processes, systems, policies and operational efficiency.
- Ensure responsible management of company resources and consulting budgets.
- Support annual business planning and financial forecasting.
6. Brand Positioning and Strategic Partnerships
- Represent the company at business forums, conferences, networking events and professional engagements.
- Strengthen the company’s visibility and reputation within Tanzania and the wider East African market.
- Develop strategic partnerships with corporations, professional associations, training institutions, development partners and other consulting firms.
- Contribute to thought leadership through articles, webinars, speaking engagements and industry insights.
- Position the company as a trusted provider of practical, innovative and results-driven HR solutions.
Knowledge and Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Organisational Psychology, Marketing or a related discipline.
- A master’s degree or recognised professional HR qualification will be an added advantage.
- At least eight years of progressive experience in HR consulting, recruitment, executive search, training, business development or professional services.
- At least three years of experience in a senior management, partner, director or business leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience generating revenue and successfully closing corporate consulting contracts.
- Strong understanding of the Tanzanian business environment, labour market and corporate decision-making landscape.
- Proven experience recruiting, managing and motivating high-performing teams.
- A strong and active network of corporate clients and decision-makers.
- A proven record of meeting or exceeding revenue and business-development targets.
- Experience selling recruitment, training, HR advisory, outsourcing, payroll or related professional services.
- Strong commercial judgement and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
- Confidence engaging CEOs, board members, HR directors, business owners and institutional leaders.

- Specific financial and commercial targets will be agreed upon appointment and reviewed periodically.
Compensation and Equity Opportunity
The remuneration structure will be competitive and strongly performance-oriented. It may include:
- A negotiated fixed monthly retainer or salary.
- Performance-based commissions or profit-sharing.
- Incentives linked to revenue, profitability, client acquisition and team performance.
- A potential opportunity to earn or acquire up to 10% equity in CVPeople Tanzania.
Equity is not automatic. Up to 10% equity may be considered after the successful candidate consistently achieves agreed revenue, profitability, leadership and business-growth targets over a period of 24 months.
Any equity award will be subject to:
- Successful completion of the two-year performance period.
- Achievement of clearly documented targets and milestones.
- Satisfactory leadership, conduct and alignment with company values.
- Financial and legal due diligence.
- Approval by the company’s shareholders or Board.
- Execution of formal shareholder, vesting and related legal agreements.
