The Maintenance Superintendent is a lead role responsible for the management of site maintenance activities and personnel. The areas of responsibility include maintaining the site’s mobile, auxiliary, and ancillary equipment. This role involves managing all maintenance personnel, systems, and equipment to ensure high levels of equipment availability and integrity in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that SMCL safety standards are maintained with respect to equipment and installations across all relevant areas of responsibility.
  • Understand and adhere to Mining Regulations concerning engineering and safety requirements.
  • Manage maintenance assets through the Pronto or SAP Maintenance Management System.
  • Attend relevant business meetings as directed by the Maintenance Manager to understand proactive, long-term operational priorities and to build forecast equipment downtime business models.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance across a wide range of Mobile/Auxiliary and Ancillary Assets, including:
    • Light Vehicles, Light Trucks, Heavy Trucks, Earth Moving Fleet, Mobile Crushers/Screening Plants
    • Auxiliary Equipment, Skid Steers, Backhoes, Forklifts, Working at Heights-Mobile Platforms, Mobile Cranes, Pumps, Conveyors, Power Generation, Supporting Systems
  • Minimum 7 years’ supervisory experience, with at least 5 years at a senior level.

Qualification

  • Recognised Tertiary Engineering qualification or equivalent (desired)
