The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery (e.g., Excavators, Haul Trucks, Dozers, Graders, or Crushers) to support production targets. This role includes performing routine maintenance checks and ensuring the machinery operates within standard parameters.

Responsibilities or duties

Operation:

• Operate assigned mobile or fixed plant equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Achieve hourly/daily production targets while minimizing downtime.

Maintenance:

• Perform pre-start and post-operation inspections (fluid levels, tires, lights, brakes).
• Report mechanical defects immediately to the maintenance team.
• Perform minor cleaning and greasing of equipment.

Safety:

• Adhere strictly to all site safety policies and operational procedures.
• Maintain a safe distance from other equipment and personnel.
• Ensure the work area is clean and free of hazards.

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate logs of machine hours, fuel usage, and material moved.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience needed

Minimum 5 years of proven experience operating specific heavy machinery relevant to the project (e.g., Dump Trucks, Front-End Loaders, Excavators).
