Position Overview

Asante Africa Foundation seeks a qualified and motivated MEAL Associate to support the implementation and strengthening of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems in Tanzania. The position will play a key role in ensuring high-quality data collection, analysis, reporting, and learning to enhance program effectiveness and impact.

  • Support implementation of project M&E plans and indicator tracking.
  • Coordinate routine data collection and verification across program sites.
  • Conduct field monitoring visits to track progress and data quality.
  • Support baseline, midline, and endline assessments.

Data Management & Analysis

  • Maintain program databases and data systems.
  • Clean, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Produce indicator performance summaries and dashboards.

Reporting

  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Support donor reporting and results framework tracking.
  • Develop success stories, case studies, and impact briefs.

Accountability

  • Support beneficiary feedback and complaints response mechanisms.
  • Ensure safeguarding, informed consent, and confidentiality standards.

Learning & Capacity Building

  • Document lessons learned and best practices.
  • Support learning workshops and review meetings.
  • Train staff and partners on MEAL tools and reporting templates.

General Support

  • Work closely with program and field staff to support evidence-based programming.
  • Undertake any other MEAL-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in MEAL within NGO/development programs.
  • Experience with donor-funded projects is an added advantage.
  • Experience in education, youth, or livelihoods programming preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in digital data collection tools (KoboToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO, etc.).
  • Strong data analysis skills (Excel required; SPSS/STATA/Power BI an asset).
  • Knowledge of logframes, theories of change, and results frameworks.
  • Strong report writing and data visualization skills.

  • High attention to detail and data quality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to field locations.
