Job Summary

To provide administrative and operational support within Human Capital Operations, with a particular focus on job architecture, job catalogue management, employee data administration, records management, organizational structure maintenance, and HR governance activities while gaining practical experience in Human Capital management.

Job Description

Main accountabilities and approximate time split

Responsibilities

  • Support the review, update, and maintenance of the Bank's Job Catalogue, job profiles, and organizational structures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business requirements.
  • Assist in conducting job analysis by gathering and validating information on role responsibilities, reporting lines, qualifications, and key accountabilities.
  • Maintain and update records of approved job descriptions, organization structures, establishment positions, and related documentation.
  • Support Human Capital Operations activities, including employee lifecycle administration, records management, documentation, and data maintenance.
  • Maintain employee files and ensure personnel records are accurate, complete, up to date, and compliant with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Ensure employee and position data integrity through regular data validation and reconciliation within HR systems.
  • Support periodic audits of employee files, HR records, and organizational data to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and governance standards.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Human Capital team in the execution of day-to-day activities.
  • Respond to routine employee inquiries and escalate issues to the appropriate team members when necessary.
  • Support the preparation of HR correspondence, documentation, presentations, and meeting materials as required.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee, organizational, and business information in line with the Bank's policies and standards.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Human Capital team.

Risk and Controls Objectives

  • Manage risk and control effectively by applying applicable risk frameworks and embedding a positive risk culture.
  • Understanding of own role in the end-to-end processes in which you play a part, including applicable risks and controls.
  • Adhere to Absa’s policies and procedures applicable to own role, demonstrating sound judgement and responsible risk management.
  • Report on all risk events / incidents / issues using the defined process for your business area and help to understand why these happened and how to prevent them in future. Proactively look for ways to improve the control environment by considering what could go wrong in the processes you operate and how errors could be prevented.
  • All mandatory training completed to deadline.

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or any Social Science from Accredited University.
