Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a Geology Technician to join and grow our team. The role holder will be responsible for monitoring daily underground Ore production, ore movement tracking, geological face sampling, daily ore headings and backsight marking, daily stopes inspections, underground stockpile sampling, and other activities as it may require with time to time.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all documented Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Coordinate daily drilling logistics, including mobilising work crews on time and ensuring the availability of necessary safety gear and consumables.
  • Monitor and maintain sufficient stock levels of drilling program supplies and safety equipment to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Conduct sampling (RC, soil, trench, stream, …), core orientation and marking, drill core sampling, geological measurements, sample processing, sample dispatch, and secure storage.
  • Supervise field work as per the company SOP, including but not limited to drill pad preparation, drill rig setup, etc.
  • Collect drill core samples in full compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), accurately recording all required information and applying QA/QC practices to maintain sample integrity.
  • Prepare samples to the highest standard before dispatch, ensuring no contamination, mixing, or loss.
  • Deliver timely and accurate geological data, reports, and documentation, including daily and weekly updates.
  • Support business outcomes by ensuring high-quality geological data delivery, maintaining good sample quality, achieving strong core recovery, and reporting any irregularities to management.
  • Maintain accurate data entry and organised filing systems to ensure traceability and compliance.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to peers and management to promote continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Assist with field mapping, sampling, drill site inspections, drill site preparation and any other work-site activities as advised by supervisor. To assist Geologists in accomplishing geological tasks by hand.
  • Carry out geotechnical measurements in drill core; geotechnical and geological sample collection and processing, dispatch and storage of drilling/soil /lithology
  • Any other activity may be assigned by the management
  • Ensure all work is completed in a corruption-free environment
  • Ensure all work complies with the company’s Journey to Zero policies, including staff and contractors.
  • Increased focus on reporting and investigation of high-potential incidents.
  • Immediate stoppage of unsafe behaviours. Proactive in sending safety messages, safety alerts, interactions with teams, and participating in safety meetings.
  • Travel to sites throughout Tanzania as and when required.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Diploma in geology from a recognized Institution or equivalent
  • Hold a valid Tanzanian driving License
  • Proven ability to independently operate manual-gear transmission light vehicles.

Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • Computer skills – Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (Fluent in Kiswahili and English)
