Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care to patients.
  • Conduct proper history taking and physical examinations.
  • Request and interpret appropriate laboratory and radiological investigations.
  • Manage common medical and emergency conditions appropriately.
  • Refer patients to specialists and other healthcare professionals when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records.
  • Participate in emergency care and other clinical duties as assigned.
  • Provide health education and counseling to patients and their attendants.
  • Participate in ward rounds, outpatient services, and other hospital clinical activities.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, professional ethics, infection prevention and control procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with nurses, specialists, laboratory staff, radiology staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Perform any other duties related to the position as assigned by the Medical Director or Hospital Management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Holder of a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent recognized medical qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Must be registered at Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT).
  • Valid practising licence is required.
  • Previous experience working in a hospital, health centre, or similar healthcare setting will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in emergency and outpatient care will be an added advantage.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, clinical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and commitment to patient-centred care.
