Job Purpose

The Fuel Station Manager is responsible for directing all daily operations at the fuel station, including fuel sales, convenience store operations, inventory management, and customer service. Reporting to executive management, this role ensures station profitability, accurate financial reconciliations, adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, and proactive team leadership.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Operational & Sales Leadership:

  • Oversee total daily station operations including fuel dispensing, retail sales, convenience store management, and auxiliary services.
  • Execute commercial and marketing initiatives to increase fuel sales volume, customer retention, and retail turnover.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness, safety, and physical security across the entire station site.

Inventory, Fuel Quality & Financial Controls:

  • Monitor fuel deliveries, conduct quality checks, and track stock dips to prevent loss or contamination. Fuel Station Manager – Sango Energy
  • Manage inventory levels for fuel and retail goods, ensuring optimal stock levels and timely replenishment orders.
  • Handle daily cash collection, banking procedures, till reconciliations, and record-keeping.
  • Compile accurate daily, weekly, and monthly operational, sales, and financial reports for management.

People Management & Compliance:

  • Prepare shift schedules, manage staff performance, and deliver continuous training to motivate station attendants.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies as well as regional Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations.
  • Address customer inquiries and handle complaints with efficiency and high professionalism.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or an equivalent discipline from a recognized institution.

Work Experience & Skills:

  • Station Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven hands-on experience managing a fuel station.
  • Commercial Expertise: Strong marketing and promotional background within fuel retail or commercial trade.
  • Leadership & Safety: Exceptional team management, communication, and interpersonal capabilities combined with solid knowledge of HSE regulations.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of inventory control, cash handling, and financial reconciliation.
  • Work Schedule: Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
