Job Summary:
The Front Office Supervisor oversees daily operations of the front desk, ensuring exceptional guest service, efficient workflows, and adherence to hotel policies. This role supports staff, resolves guest concerns, and maintains accurate records to enhance the overall guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Services & Operations:
- Supervise front desk staff (receptionists, concierge, night auditors) during shifts.
- Ensure smooth check-in/check-out processes and handle VIP guest arrivals.
- Resolve guest complaints promptly and escalate issues when necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of room rates, promotions, and hotel amenities.
Staff Management & Training:
- Train new hires on front desk procedures, PMS systems, and customer service standards.
- Create shift schedules and assign tasks to optimize productivity.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Administrative Duties:
- Audit daily transactions (cash, credit, invoices) for accuracy.
- Manage room inventory and coordinate with housekeeping/maintenance.
- Prepare reports on occupancy, revenue, and guest feedback.
Compliance & Safety:
- Enforce hotel policies (e.g., privacy, safety, payment protocols).
- Ensure compliance with local regulations (e.g., guest registration laws).
- Assist in emergency procedures (fire drills, medical incidents).
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: High school diploma (required); degree in Hospitality Management (preferred).
- Experience: 2+ years in front desk operations, with 1+ year in a supervisory role.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Property Management Systems (e.g., Opera, Fidelio).
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and basic accounting knowledge.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Excellent communication (verbal/written) and multitasking skills.
- Customer-focused with a professional demeanor.
