This objective can be achieved through the following expected results: 

  • Targeted households are provided with improved cookstoves.
  • Distribution of 26.000 improved cookstoves within local communities.
  • Organization of awareness-raising events on environmental protection and promotion of improved  stoves in the target villages.
  • Assure the targeted cookstoves are functioning and are used by the beneficiaries.

Duties and responsibilities 

Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator and Country Representative, the Field Officer will be responsible for the following duties:

TASKS: 

  • Support the Project Coordinator in the implementation of the project, ensuring the execution of  activities at the local level.
  • Support the Project Coordinator in implementing the project by facilitating activities at the local level.
  • Coordinate the distribution of project materials and resources, and participate in the preparation of  materials, including the loading of cookstoves.
  • Facilitate contact with beneficiaries, coordinate trainings and campaigns with partners, and carry out  awareness and sensitization activities in the community.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project progress, assess impact, and identify areas for  improvement.
  • Capacity to collect accurate data, prepare regular reports, and efficiently upload information using  the relevant data systems.
  • Establish strong relationships and collaborate with key village representatives, government  authorities, and project partners to ensure successful project implementation.
  • Address challenges and conflicts in the field, providing practical solutions to ensure project continuity.
  • Perform any other duty whenever required by the Project Coordinator or Project Assistant.

SKILLS: 

  • Ability to build strong professional relationships with beneficiaries.
  • Ability to conduct sensitization activities autonomously.
  • Capacity to relate effectively with people of all ages.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to work independently while fostering collaboration and a unified  team approach.
  • Good interpersonal communication, report writing, and computing skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Sensitive to gender equality issues.

Requirements 

ESSENTIAL:

The ideal candidate should possess a university degree or diploma in a relevant field such as:

  • Rural community development.
  • Monitoring and evaluation.
  • Data collection.
  • Environmental studies.

While a degree in one of these fields is preferred, candidates with equivalent qualifications or relevant  experience may also be considered, allowing for a diverse pool of backgrounds and skills.

In addition, candidates should have: 

  • At least one year of relevant professional experience as a Field Officer.
  • Proficiency in English and proven ability to draft official reports and documents in both English and  Kiswahili.
  • Strong digital skills, including proficiency in using smartphones, mobile applications, and data  collection tools or systems.
  • valid driving license for both cars and motorcycles.
  • Tanzanian citizenship. Candidates from Kongwa District or with previous work experience in the  area are strongly preferred, as familiarity with the local context will be considered an asset.
