About FAWE Tanzania
Forum for African Women Educationalists Tanzania Chapter (FAWE Tanzania) is one of the 34 chapters of FAWE, a non-government Pan-African organization headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya.
FAWE Tanzania implements FAWE’s mandate at the national level by addressing gender equity and equality. Position Summary
FAWE Tanzania seeks to recruit a qualified Field Officer. The Field Officer’s primary function is to oversee the implementation and monitoring of project activities at target partner institutions within the region/cluster in Tanzania.
The Field Officer will ensure that implementation schedules are met in accordance with the detailed project activity implementation plan and strengthen adherence to systems for quality project implementation. The role will also involve supporting the organization’s work in championing girls’ and women’s education and engaging stakeholders to achieve project and organizational objectives.
Reporting To
Program Officer
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Support FAWE Tanzania programs by supervising and managing activities in the Tanzania region/cluster and other project sites.
- Support the identification and selection of beneficiaries based on established criteria.
- Conduct regular monitoring visits to beneficiaries to ensure compliance with program requirements and collect feedback on their experiences.
- Gather data related to beneficiary performance and program impact, including through surveys and interviews.
- Prepare detailed reports on field activities and submit them to the Project Coordinator or relevant stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Take the lead in preparing field reports as required.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between beneficiaries and the project management team.
- Organize training sessions for beneficiaries to enhance their understanding of the bursary process, financial management and the extended orientation program.
- Assist in developing educational materials that support beneficiaries in utilizing their financial aid effectively.
- Manage logistics related to field operations, including travel arrangements for site visits.
- Engage with local communities to promote awareness of the project within the region/cluster.
- Collaborate with partner institutions, community leaders and other stakeholders to foster support for the project.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A degree in Social Sciences, Education, Development Work, Project Management, Social Work, or another relevant field.
- 3–5 years of experience in project design and implementation in a similar role.
- Proven knowledge and experience in developing and implementing community mobilization projects and stakeholder engagement.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the environment and people, including culture.
- Ability to remain flexible in a changing environment and make decisions independently.
- Strong data analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using the MS Office Suite for documentation and reporting.
- Commitment to the mission, vision and values of FAWE Tanzania.
Languages
Fluency in both English and Swahili is required.
