BASIC PURPOSE:
Engineering Manager is in charge of all aspects of Lodge and building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, steam, gas, fire & safety, HVAC refrigeration, interior, paint and decorating, carpentry, water treatment (RO, STP), Vehicles, Elevators. Respond to inquiries and problems in an efficient, courteous and professional manner to achieve maximum guest / employee satisfaction while complying with all Four Seasons’ policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in the hiring, training, supervision, scheduling, counseling and evaluation of performance, and planning the activities of maintenance employees, supervisors and assistant managers including making spot checks on a daily basis to ensure work is being carried out in time and in compliance with standards.
- Ensure proper execution of work order/request system and that items are followed up on when necessary.
- Prepare requisitions for purchase and work orders and liaise effectively with the Director of Purchasing.Implement preventive maintenance schedules, policies and rules to ensure an efficient department.
- Oversee Lodge PRP for Rooms, Public Areas and Employee Areas. Ensure that meter readings are taken daily on electrical and water consumption; review information to evaluate consumption and any unnecessary wastage.
- Maintain logs on movement of stock items and tools and monitor distribution of items.
- Comply with and enforce Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in Employee handbook.
- Thorough knowledge of the Engineering Budget / Forecasts to ensure POs are timed accordingly and works are completed on time in line with budgeted finances.
- Assist with maintenance of all firefighting equipment in first class order and ensure that emergency procedures are understood and practiced by hotel staff.
- Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Actively support the Green & Safety Committees at The Lodge.
- Assist to oversee the Safety & Loss Prevention Department in the absence of the Director of Engineering.
- Support the energy conservation program allowing the Lodge to meet its annual budget targets.
- Maintain close working relations with hotel contractors who furnish reliable 24-hour emergency service. This includes TANAPA along with technicians for Generators / Water Treatment Plants and Elevators / Fire Panel Systems and CCTV.
- Ensure you are fully familiar with the new Four Seasons Health & Safety program Lead with Care and attend all the mandatory training.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Education: Degree in Mechanics or equivalent experience
- Trade school in mechanics, refrigeration etc.
Experience:
- Five years of employment in the related position with Four Seasons or other organization.
- Skills and Abilities: Requires a working technical knowledge of general building maintenance.
- Working knowledge is generally learned on-the-Job or through a series of professional certifications. Must possess a current license as an Operating Engineer.
- Requires knowledge of the ability to operate computer equipment.
- Requires knowledge of blueprints, wiring diagrams and hydraulics.
- Ability to read and speak and write English
